100 Proof (Aged in Soul) is an American soul group formed in Detroit, Michigan,
in 1969. The group was assembled by the former Motown songwriting team
Holland-Dozier-Holland and signed to their new label Hot Wax Records. Their
breakthrough came with the release of "Somebody's Been Sleeping", which reached
number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and sold over one million copies, earning a
gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America in 1970.
