Originally known as IV Real, R&B group 4 P.M. formed in Baltimore, Maryland in
1991 Comprised of brothers Reney (Ray) Pena and Roberto Pena, Jr. plus Larry
McFarland and Martiz Ware, the quartet began their career by performing at local
talent shows. In 1994, after they were spotted performing at a release party,
they signed with Next Plateau Records. Changing their name to 4 P.M. (For
Positive Music), they released their debut album, Now’s The Time, in 1994. The
album featured the Billboard Top 10 single “Sukiyaki,” a cover of the 1961 hit
by Japanese singer Kyu Sakamoto. 4 P.M....
