Akira Fujioka, known professionally as Afra, was born on January 29, 1980, in
Suita, Osaka, Japan. He is a Japanese beatboxer who gained prominence through
his unique style and collaborations. His early work included the release of
Always Fresh Rhythm Attack in 2003. In 2004, Afra released his debut album
Digital Breath, collaborating with Prefuse 73. He formed the beatboxing band
Afra & Incredible Beatbox Band in 2005 with Kei and K-Moon. They released their
self-titled album I.B.B. in 2006. He subsequently released the album Heart Beat
in 2009.
