Akeem Joseph, known as AK the Savior and AK27, was born on June 13, 1991, in Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York. He began rapping at age eleven and initially worked under the stage name The Underachiever. In 2011, he formed the hip-hop duo The Underachievers with Marlon Fung, known as Issa Gold. Their breakthrough came in May 2012 with the release of their first music video for "So Devilish", which quickly gained attention.
