Born in 1976, Alain Ramanisum is a Mauritian sega singer who began his musical
career at the age of 14. Initially a drummer, he soon learned the rudiments of
guitar and piano, and was given his first synthesizer by his father. He then
became pianist for the group Zenfan Cassis, an experience he continued for five
years while completing his studies. When the group recorded its first album, it
changed its name to Cassiya, and Alain Ramanisum became a key member, writing
