ALDO BASSI
Aldo Bassi, born on January 29, 1962, in Italy, was a jazz trumpeter and
composer who graduated from the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. He joined
several Roman jazz bands early in his career and released albums with Franco
Piana's Big Band and Riccardo Fassi's Tankio Band after returning from Cuba. In
1992, he formed the Bassi-Giuliani Quintet with Rosario Giulian,i releasing
L'incontro in 1996. He then established the Aldo Bassi Quartet, releasing
Distanze in 1999 and hosting U.S. saxophonist Rick Margitza on tour. The
