Alexander Ferdinand Grychtolik, born on September 6, 1980 in Berlin, is a German
harpsichordist, improviser, conductor, and music researcher. He received the
Franz Liszt Prize in 2005 and studied under Bernhard Klapprott and Frédérick
Haas at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. He held the first teaching position
for Baroque Improvisation Practice at the Hochschule für Musik "Franz Liszt" in
Weimar. He performed both nationally and internationally as a harpsichordist,
