Alexandre Desplat, born in Paris on August 23, 1961, studied classical music in
France and the United States. He first gained recognition for his work with
Jacques Audiard since their collaboration on Regarde les hommes tomber, before
going on to compose soundtracks for big-budget films. Syriana (2005), The Queen
(2006) and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) all owe their musical
ambience to him. Winner of numerous international awards, Alexandre Desplat
delivered scores for Twilight (Chapter II: Temptation) and Un Prophète in 2009,
