Andre Hodeir

Jazz
André Willy Hodeir, born on January 22, 1921, in Paris, France, is a violinist, composer, and arranger. He studied at the Conservatoire de Paris under Olivier Messiaen, earning first prizes in fugue, harmony, and history of music. Hodeir then founded Jazz Groupe de Paris in 1954. His career included film music collaborations with directors such as Georges Franju and Agnès Varda. In the 1960s, he formed his own orchestra and composed the notable piece "Anna Livia Plurabelle" (1966).
