Ásgeir – born Ágeir Trausti Einarsson in Laugarbakki, Iceland on July 1, 1992 –
is a folktronica/alternative singer, songwriter, and musician. Initially
credited as Ásgeir Trausti, he began using the mononym Ásgeir in 2013. Ásgeir
grew up in an isolated village located on an island in the north of Iceland with
a population of less than 10. He was a passionate about American music, whether
it was Nirvana, Johnny Cash or Bob Dylan. Inspired by the music, he formed a
