Aşık Veysel Şatıroğlu
Aşık Veysel Şatıroğlu was born on October 25, 1894 in Sivrialan, Sivas Province,
Ottoman Empire. Blind since age seven due to smallpox, he began his musical
career as an ashik. His songs often explored themes of morality, love, and
nature. In 1965, Şatıroğlu released his first single "Güzelliğin On Para Etmez /
Anlatamam Derdimi Dertsiz İnsana". Notable albums include Dostlar Beni
Hatırlasın (1971) and Kara Toprak (1994), featuring songs like "Uzun İnce Bir
Yoldayım". He passed away on March 21, 1973.
