Athanator, a metal band from Medellín, Colombia, formed in 1989. The group's
initial lineup included Jaime Ocampo on guitar and vocals, Guillermo Alzate, and
Gioseppe Restrepo. Their early performances began in October 1990, and they
released their first demo, Gritos del Ennom, in 1991. Athanator's breakthrough
came with the release of "Engendros de muerte" in 1992, which led to a national
tour. The band faced instability and disbanded in November 1995 but reunited in
1999 with a new lineup. Their first album, Raise the Death, was released in
2000, followed by Raise the Slaughter...
