Autopilot Off, a punk rock band from Orange County, New York, formed in 1996
under the name Cooter. The original lineup included Chris Hughes on guitar,
Chris Johnson on guitar and vocals, Phil Robinson on drums, and Rob Kucharek on
bass. They gained popularity through live shows throughout the 1990s. In 2001,
due to a trademark dispute, they changed their name to Autopilot Off. The band
signed with Island Records in December 2001. Their album Make A Sound was
released in 2004, featuring the single "What I Want," co-written by Tim
