Banda Beijo, a Brazilian band from Bahia, was formed in 1988 as a carnival bloc
known as Bloco Beijo. The group's initial frontman was Ernesto de Souza Andrade
Junior, better known as Netinho. Initially conceived as an Axé band, Banda Beijo
incorporated elements from artists like Tim Maia and the Police. Their debut
album Prove Beijo was released in 1988. In 1992, Netinho left the band to pursue
a solo career with Polygram/Universal Music. A subsequent legal dispute
