Barbara Rosene (born in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American jazz and big band
singer. Growing up, Rosene was influenced by her father’s record collection and
her grandfather, who was a radio singer in the 1920s. While majoring in English
at John Carroll University, Rosene gained early experience performing with the
school choir and at jazz bars. Following her move to New York City in 1997,
Rosene auditioned over the phone for Vince Giordano’s Nighthawks and performed
