Rufino Almeida Bau, born 1962 in Mindelo, Cape Verde, is a Cape Verdean
musician. In 1994, he joined the touring band of Cesária Évora, becoming her
musical director in 1996. In 1995, he released the album Jaílza (1995), followed
by Tôp D'coroa (1996) and Inspiraçao (1998). The 2001 release Blimundo and
2003’s Silencio expanded his catalog. Later projects included Café Musique
(2010) and Plays Vasco Martins (2012). His track "Raquel" appeared in Pedro
Almodóvar’s film Talk to Her (2002), and he has also toured with Hernani
Almeida.
