Black Belt Eagle Scout
Katherine Paul, born on June 16, 1989, in Anacortes, Washington, is a
Swinomish/Iñupiaq singer‑songwriter and multi‑instrumentalist based in Portland,
Oregon. She began learning piano and flute in school, later self‑teaching guitar
and drums from bootleg VHS tapes of Hole and Nirvana. In 2014, she released the
EP Black Belt Eagle Scout, followed by the album Mother of My Children in 2017
through Good Cheer Records and reissued by Saddle Creek Records in 2018. The
2019 single "Loss & Relax" and its B‑side "Half Colored Hair" were issued on
vinyl, and the album At the Party with My...
