Black Eyes
Black Eyes is an American post‑punk band formed in Washington, D.C., in
August 2001. They issued a 7″ on Ruffian Records in 2002. Their self‑titled
debut, Black Eyes, was released on Dischord Records in 2003, produced by Ian
MacKaye. After touring with Q and Not U, the band disbanded in 2004, two months
before the release of their second album, Cough, which incorporated brass. They
reunited in 2023 for a 20th‑anniversary tour, reissued both albums, and released
a zine, Speaking in Tongues: Black Eyes 2001‑2004. In 2025, they released
