American hip hop duo Black Sheep, from Queens, New York, was formed in 1989 by
William "Mista Lawnge" McLean and Andres "Dres" Vargas. The duo met as teenagers
in Sanford, North Carolina, where their families had relocated. Black Sheep
debuted in 1991 with the hit song "Flavor of the Month" and later released their
first album, A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing, which gained them praise for its unique
rhythms and intelligent lyrics. The album charted three times on the Billboard
