Black Slate
Black Slate is a British reggae band that emerged in London in 1974, founded by
musicians from England, Jamaica, and Anguilla. The group first gained attention
backing prominent Jamaican singers-Delroy Wilson, Ken Boothe, and Dennis
Brown-when they performed in the UK, and released the anti‑mugging single
"Sticks Man" in 1976, which charted in the Netherlands and Belgium. In 1978 the
band toured the UK independently for the first time and launched its own TCD
