James Robert "Bob" Wills, born on March 6, 1905, in Kosse, Texas, was an American musician, songwriter, and bandleader. Raised in a musically inclined family, he learned to play the fiddle and mandolin from his father, who was a champion fiddler. In his early career, Wills formed several bands and played at radio stations across the South and West until 1934 when he established the Texas Playboys.
