Boris Borisovich Grebenshchikov, known as BG, was born on November 27, 1953, in
Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). He is a singer and the founder of the band
Aquarium, established in 1972 with his childhood friend Anatoly "George"
Gunitsky. He founded Aquarium as a postmodern theatrical endeavor including
poetry and music, performing low-fi electric blues and acoustic reggae. He
released his first solo album S toy storony zerkal'nogo stekla in 1976, followed
