Bruce Langhorne, born May 11, 1938, in Tallahassee, Florida, was an American
folk musician who began playing at age 17 after losing most of three fingers of
his right hand. He started his career accompanying folk singer Brother John
Sellers and worked with major performers like Joan Baez and Peter, Paul and
Mary. Langhorne first recorded in 1961 with Carolyn Hester, where he met Bob
Dylan. He played a significant role on several of Dylan's albums, including The
Freewheelin' Bob Dylan (1963) and Bringing It All Back Home (1965). Langhorne
