Carl Halvor Høgset, born on November 3, 1941, in Norway, was a Norwegian choral
conductor, singer, and musician. In his youth, he was a member of the boys'
choir Sølvguttene. He earned degrees in language and musicology from the
University of Oslo in 1974, and in voice and choral conducting from the
Norwegian Academy of Music in 1976, where he was a student of composer Knut
Nystedt. Høgset founded the chamber choir Grex Vocalis in 1971. In 2012, he was
appointed for the second time as conductor of the Norwegian Student Choral
