Carlos Enrique Mata Iturriza was born in Caracas, Venezuela, on 28 August 1952,
and began his artistic career as a singer and actor. After studying violin and
acting, he entered the Venezuelan television scene, where his early performances
in telenovelas provided exposure that led to his first recording contract. His
debut single "Que por qué te quiero" appeared in 1985, coinciding with the
release of the album Que por qué te quiero, which remained in the top positions
