Catherine
Catherine was an American alternative rock band from Chicago, Illinois. They
gained recognition when Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins credited them with
introducing him to the Big Muff pedal, which became a signature element in his
guitar sound on Siamese Dream. Signed to TVT Records, Catherine released several
singles, including "Sparkle" (1991), "Sleepy" (1993), and the album Hot Saki &
Bedtime Stories (1996). The band toured with acts like Garbage and the
Lemonheads. Following their 1997 tour, internal conflicts and label issues led
