Cécile Ousset, born January 23, 1936, in Tarbes, France, is a French pianist who
gave her first recital at age five. She studied at the Conservatoire national de
musique et d'art dramatique in Paris with Marcel Ciampi, earning her first prize
in piano at 14. Ousset's breakthrough came with victories in several
international competitions, including the Marguerite-Long-Jacques Thibaud
International Competition and the fourth prize at the Queen Elisabeth of Belgium
