Cheryl Wheeler
Cheryl Wheeler, born July 10, 1951 in Timonium, Maryland, is an American folk
singer-songwriter. She began playing ukulele and guitar in middle school and
writing songs in high school. Early in her career, Wheeler started performing at
clubs in Washington D.C., and Baltimore before moving to Providence, Rhode
Island in 1976.
Wheeler released her first EP, Newport Songs, in 1983. The song "Addicted" from
her self-titled album (1986) became a Number 1 hit for country singer Dan Seals
