Christian-Pierre La Marca
Born in Saint-Étienne, France on May 31st, 1983, Christian-Pierre La Marca is a
cellist who has become a fixture on the international concert and chamber music
scenes. Elder brother of Adrien La Marca (born in 1989), he began taking cello
lessons in Aix-en-Provence before moving to Paris to continue his studies at the
conservatory with Jean-Marie Gamard and Philippe Muller. Working with private
teachers, he also studied in Cologne, Germany with Frans Helmerson and London,
England, with Stephen Isserlis. Encouraged by classical icons such as Itzhak
