Christian Vasquez
Christian Vásquez is a Venezuelan conductor and violinist born in 1984 in
Caracas. He began studying the violin at age 9 after being accepted into the El
Sistema program and started conducting studies under José Antonio Abreu in 2001.
Vásquez became the music director of the José Félix Ribas Juvenile Symphony
Orchestra of Aragua in 2005. He reached wider visibility in 2009 after being
named a Gustavo Dudamel conducting fellow with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
