Christine Chartrand is a Quebec singer, songwriter, composer and television host
born on March 28, 1948 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She made her debut in 1966,
at the age of 18, on the Quebec television program Découvertes, where she sang
Gilbert Bécaud's " Mon arbre ". Following her success, she signed a contract
with the Capitol label. In 1971, she represented Canada at the Sopot Festival in
Poland, winning the Press Award for her interpretation of Sylvain Lelièvre's
