Christine Lavin, born on January 2, 1952, is an American singer-songwriter known
for her contributions to contemporary folk music. She began her career working
at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, New York, before moving to New York City on
the advice of Dave Van Ronk, who also offered her guitar lessons. Lavin's album,
