Chuck Deardorf

Chuck Deardorf was born on April 3, 1954, and was an American musician. He was best known for playing double bass and bass guitar with the Deardorf Peterson Group. He began playing double bass at fifteen and later studied at Evergreen State College before performing in Seattle clubs such as Parnell’s and Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley. After teaching at Western Washington University in 1978, he joined Cornish College of the Arts in 1979, eventually becoming head of its jazz program from 1986 to 2000, while continuing to record as a sideman for artists including Zoot Sims, Monty Alexander...
