Classix Nouveaux
English new wave band Classix Nouveaux, formed in 1979, originated when Jak
Airport and B.P. Hurding left the punk band X-Ray Spex. The group consisted
initially of Sal Solo on vocals, Mik Sweeney on bass/keyboard, Jak Airport on
guitar, and B.P. Hurding on drums; Jak Airport was later replaced by Gary
Steadman (guitar). Their first gig took place on August 25, 1979, at London's
Music Machine. Classix Nouveaux gained attention with their dramatic image,
