Clive Bell
Clive Bell is an English flutist and music critic who was born in London,
England, in 1950. He achieved early professional recognition in 1979 with the
release of his debut studio recording and is famous for his mastery of the
shakuhachi and for serving as the president of the London Musicians' Collective
(1998–2003). Bell studied the shakuhachi in Japan for two years under Kōhachiro
Miyata and has collaborated with artists including Rié Yanagisawa and Peter
