Cody Kilby (born in Tennessee) is an American bluegrass guitarist and
multi-instrumentalist. Kilby began playing banjo at age eight and received a
Gibson banjo endorsement at age 11. He also learned mandolin and dobro at age
13. In 1996, Kilby won the Walnut Valley Festival Mandolin Championship and
became the National Flatpicking Champion in 1998. Kilby launched his solo
recording career with the album Just Me (1997), performing every instrument on
