Colette Deréal, born Colette Denise de Glarélial on September 22, 1927, in
Saint-Cyr-l'École, France, was a French actress and singer. At age fifteen, she
was introduced to composer Reynaldo Hahn and showed promise as a soprano
colorature. In 1959, her breakthrough came with the release of the song “Ne joue
pas”, which sold 100,000 copies in a month following its debut on the television
series Les Cinq Dernières Minutes. Her other successes include the songs “La
