Common Sense, formed in 1987, is an American reggae band known for pioneering
the California “surf reggae” sound. The group’s 1996 album Psychedelic Surf
Groove under Virgin featured the single "Never Give Up", which was used in the
movie Speed 2: Cruise Control. Subsequent albums, including State of the Nation:
Now & Then (1999), Common Sense (2002), and Don't Look Back (2004), were issued
on their own label, Common Sense Records. The band toured the United States and
Mexico, performed at venues such as the Belly Up Tavern, and appeared on
festivals including Warped Tour.
