American singer-songwriter and worship pastor Cory Asbury was born on October 15, 1985, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He spent his childhood years in North Carolina honing his songwriting skills and became a leader at his local church during his adolescence. After relocating to Kansas City for an internship at the International House of Prayer, Cory Asbury kicked off his music career on the 2007 IHOPKC compilation Immersed.
