Craig Douglas, born Terence Perkins on 13 August 1941, in Newport, Isle of
Wight, United Kingdom, was an English pop singer. Before his music career, he
worked as a milkman and was famously known as the 'Singing Milkman'. His
breakthrough came when he was given the stage name Craig Douglas by his manager
Bunny Lewis. In 1959, he released a hit cover of Sam Cooke's "Only Sixteen".
This song topped the UK charts and outsold Sam Cooke's original version.
Throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s, he recorded eight cover versions of
American hits, resulting in nine Top 40 UK singles....
