Cristina Braga, born in Rio de Janeiro in 1966, began her musical journey at
the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro’s School of Music, becoming the first
female principal harpist of the Orquestra Sinfônica do Theatro Municipal in
1993, a position she held until 2016. Her solo debut, Espelho D’água (2000), was
followed by Harpa Brasileira in 2005, where she reimagined Brazilian classics
like “Manhã de Carnaval,” “Insensatez,” and “Corcovado,” showcasing her gift for
