Dani Umpi, born as Daniel Umpiérrez on November 1, 1974, is an Uruguayan singer,
musician, and writer from Tacuarembó. He began his musical career in the
mid-1990s as a performer and showman, gaining recognition after winning the
"Poesía Viva" contest in 1998 and the "Dj Midi" contest in 1999. Umpi released
his first official album, Perfecto, in 2005. The record won the Premio Graffiti
for Best Album Cover Design and featured collaborations with artists including
