Darja Švajger, born on June 16, 1965, in Maribor, SR Slovenia, SFR Yugoslavia,
is a Slovenian singer. She studied classical solo singing and jazz at the
College of Music in Graz, Austria, graduating magna cum laude in 1997. Švajger's
breakthrough came with her first album V objemu noči ("In the Arms of the
Night") in 1994, following her win at the Melodies of the Sea and the Sun pop
music festival in Koper. In 1995, she represented Slovenia in the Eurovision
Song Contest with "Prisluhni mi" ("Listen to Me"), achieving seventh place.
