Demet Sağıroğlu is a Turkish pop singer born in 1966 in Erzurum. She began her
professional music career in 1989 as a backing vocalist for the musician Kayahan
in the Turkish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest with the song
“Melankoli”. In 1990, she represented Turkey at the Eurovision Song Contest
alongside Kayahan with the entry “Gözlerinin Hapsindeyim”, which finished in
17th place. Sağıroğlu released her debut solo studio album, Kınalı Bebek, in
