Dena DeRose (born February 15, 1966) is an American jazz pianist, vocalist, and
educator from Binghamton, New York. DeRose began playing piano at age three and
attended Binghamton University. At age 21, medical conditions including carpal
tunnel syndrome and arthritis forced DeRose to stop performing on the piano,
leading to a role as a vocalist with Doug Beardsley's trio. Following medical
treatment, DeRose resumed piano performance and relocated to New York City in
