Dennis King
Dennis Pratt, also known as Dennis King, was born on November 2, 1897, in
Coventry, Warwickshire, England, and was a British actor and singer. He began
his career working as a call boy at the Birmingham Repertory Theater at age 14
and made his stage debut two years later. During World War I, he served in the
Oxford Bucks Infantry and was injured in battle. He debuted on Broadway in 1921
and gained recognition for his role as Jim Kenyon in Rudolf Friml's musical
Rose-Marie, where he introduced songs such as "Rose-Marie" and "Indian Love
