Irish songwriter, musician and performer Dermot Joseph Kennedy was born in Rathcoole, County Dublin, on December 13, 1991. He learned to play the guitar at the age of ten, before composing his first songs and performing on local stages as a teenager. Following his first hits from the independent album Dermot Kennedy (January 2019), charted at #5 in Ireland, he began touring the U.S. and saw his track "Power Over Me" reach #10 in his home country (#21 in the U.S. rock charts).
