Dinosaur Jr.
Dinosaur Jr. is an American alternative rock band formed in Amherst,
Massachusetts, in 1984 by guitarist/vocalist J Mascis, bassist/vocalist Lou
Barlow, and drummer Murph. Originally known simply as Dinosaur, the trio
independently released its self-titled debut album in 1985 before recording
You're Living All Over Me (1987) with engineer Wharton Tiers. The album
considerably raised the band's profile within the American underground,
combining heavy distortion, punk energy, melodic songwriting, and Mascis'
