Dominique Barret, born on June 19, 1964, in Petite-Île, Réunion, is a French
pianist and singer. He began piano lessons at age 12 and released his first
single, "Une goutte d'amour" (1981), on vinyl. In 1984, he left Réunion for
studies in Brest before returning to participate in local jazz and rock
festivals. His breakthrough came in 1988 with the hit single "Destinées" (1988),
a duet with Maguy Payet. He released his debut album Maloyamour in 1997,
