Doretta Morrow, born Doretta Marano on January 27, 1928, in Brooklyn, New York,
was an American singer and actress. She began studying piano and singing at a
young age while living in Venice, Italy. Morrow made her Broadway debut in 1946
as Gretchen in the revival of The Red Mill. Her breakthrough role came in 1948
when she created the character Kitty Verdun in the original production of
Where's Charley?, introducing the song "My Darling, My Darling" (a duet with
